Schooling for 2,500 AIDS orphans in Malawi
Children and young people are the forgotten victims of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Some 15 million
children and young people worldwide have already lost fathers, mothers or both parents
to AIDS, most of them in southern Africa. Malawi, one of the poorest countries in Africa, is
home to around 550,000 AIDS orphans. Many of these are left to fend for themselves and
must work to survive. They do not have time to attend school.

Kinder und Jugendliche sind die vergessenen Opfer der HIV/Aids-Pandemie. Etwa 15 Millionen
weltweit haben bereits Vater, Mutter oder beide Elternteile durch Aids verloren, die meisten
von ihnen im südlichen Afrika. In Malawi, einem der ärmsten Länder Afrikas, leben rund
550.000 Aids-Waisen. Viele von ihnen sind völlig auf sich allein gestellt und müssen arbeiten,
um zu überleben. Zeit für den Schulbesuch bleibt ihnen nicht.

Maharashtra, Indien: Dorfentwicklungsprojekt für zehn Dörfer des Akola-Distrikts
Ökologische Anbaumethoden und verbesserte Trinkwasserversorgung
sichern Existenz von 1.100 Familien (Kindernothilfe-Projekt 22527)
Im indischen Bundesstaat Maharashtra sind weite Teile der ländlichen Gebiete und vor allem die
Siedlungsräume der indischen Ureinwohner völlig unterentwickelt. Hier leben viele Menschen in
absoluter Armut. Die meisten Familien sind von der Landwirtschaft abhängig. Doch sie können
kaum von ihren Ernteerträgen leben. Die Kindernothilfe hat ein Projekt gestartet, das die Bewohner
von zehn Dörfern des Akola-Distrikts auf ihrem Weg in eine selbstständige Zukunft unterstützt.
Neue, ökologische Anbaumethoden und eine verbesserte Trinkwasserversorgung sichern
die Existenz der Familien. Zudem setzt sich das Projekt für den Schulbesuch der Kinder ein.

Securing the Future of 1.100 Families through organic farming and safe drinking water (Kindernothilfe-
Project 22527)
For the most part, the rural areas of the Indian state Maharashtra are completely underdeveloped. Especially the natives
of India live in bitter poverty. Many children lack access to safe water, sufficient nutrition, medical care and the
possibility to go to school. Most families are dependent on agriculture to survive, but because of the soil infertility and
the lack of irrigation systems a successful cultivation is nearly impossible. KINDERNOTHILFE has started a project for
the small-scale farmers of ten villages of the Akola district. Organic farming and access to safe drinking water will
secure the existence of 1.100 families. Furthermore, the project provides education for the children.

Beide hatten ursprünglich bei Constab GmbH & Co. KG in Rüthen begonnen und waren immer loyal und verantwortungsbewusst, sowohl in den Krisen als auch durch die kräftigen Wachstumsphasen der Firma.
